Page Background

Victorinox Swiss Army is celebrating the future and

marking a key stage in its development with the creation

of a watchmaking competence center and the integration

of watch-case production. 2016 sees the completion

of a project that has spanned more than three years,

represents an investment of 38 million Swiss francs

and bears witness to the brand's ambitious vision.

In Delémont, the capital of the Swiss Jura, the Victorinox

Swiss Army watchmaking competence center preserves

and develops precious Swiss expertise.

The quality and excellence that have characterized

Victorinox knives since their creation in 1884 are also

channeled into Victorinox Swiss Army watches.

The competence center combines performance and

technology, bringing together two towering symbols

of Swiss industry: knifemaking and watchmaking.

The historic building has been enlarged by two new

factories, which were built to house the Victorinox Swiss

Army watchmaking competence center and the brand's

The Victorinox name has enjoyed great renown for

over a century, thanks to its expertise and mastery

of industrial skills and steel industrialization

processes. This know-how has since been transposed

to watchmaking. As part of a logical brand evolution

and transfer of skills, Victorinox Swiss Army watch

cases are now produced in Delémont. This is a key stage

and a historic, symbolic step that attests to the brand's

desire to increase the added value of the "Swiss made"

label, taking it well beyond its own standards. A high-
